Dylan's 4th Birthday!

For your fourth birthday you were pretty adamant that you wanted a Batman/Spiderman party and that you wanted to invite ALL your friends.  Any attempt to narrow down the party list was a bust, so in the end we invited all the kids from preschool and primary.  I'm not going to lie, it was a little crazy having 15 little people at the house, but it made you so happy, so it was worth it!  In preparation for the big day we created Gotham City, the Daily Bugle, made capes, and spidey spray, and hung plenty of banners around the house!

The first thing we did when everyone arrived was eat some yummy lunch!  We got chicken nuggets from chick-fil-a, however I'm pretty sure the highlight for everyone was the cheetos!

While finishing eating there was a knock on the door, to you and your friends surprise, it was THE Batman!  I will never get over the excitement of having Batman at your party.  He read you and your friends a story, taught you how to be superheros, and of course stuck around for photos and autographs!

Once Batman left we headed outside to defeat the bad guys that were taking over the Daily Bugle.  Everyone ran through an obstacle course, then grabbed their can of spidey spray and went to town on the bad guys!  Afterwards we headed inside and played pin the bat on the bat signal.  I failed to get a single picture, but it was a hit!

Once we were done with games it was time for presents and cake!  All of your friends were so generous and you loved all of your presents!  We could not ask for a sweeter set of friends and neighbors!

After the party we were all pretty tired, so we waited until later that night to open presents from mom and dad!

We love you so much buddy!

Four!!!  I can hardly believe it!  The day you made me a mama was the best of my life and every day since you've found a way to make my heart grow a little bigger.  You make me so proud.  You are learning and growing and changing every day.  You are smart and funny.  You get so excited when you accomplish something new, I love your excitement for learning.  You were the most beautiful baby and you are a dang handsome boy.  Your blue eyes, long lashes, and sweet smile get me every time!  Thank you for loving me, for cuddling me constantly, for all the hugs and kisses, and for being my best boy.  You never let me get away with calling you my baby anymore, but the reality is you always will be my sweet baby boy.  I love you.

You insisted on a Batman/Spiderman party - so that's what you got!
One day randomly you decided you needed to start wearing ties to church like daddy, you look so dang cute!
You are still lamenting the end of Halloween and have told me you don't want your birthday or Christmas, just more Halloween.
You love having so many friends at church and school.
Your preschool teacher regularly tells me how well behaved you are, it makes me so proud!
You make me take your picture in front of every toy you see to show Santa, luckily very few have stuck and made it to the actual wish list!
You love playing in the snow, it's the first winter that you've really wanted to do more than just walk around in it.
