17 Months

This past month has been a bit of a doozy!  Between a cold that just won't go away, getting molars, and weening we all have been going through a lot!  We've had plenty of really wonderful days/moments and plenty of days/moments where I wasn't sure we were all going to make it!  Despite the hard days we've had so much fun and laughter, and as always, I wouldn't change any of it!  Dylan seems to morph from my baby to my little boy and little more every day, whether it's learning something new or asserting his independence he's certainly growing up!

Facts/Accomplishments:
Stood on his own for the first time on 3/21!
He's become so shy and quiet and takes quite some time to warm up to anyone, even family and friends
He is 90% weened, but still holding strong to his night nursing
He will not nap unless we're in the car (this is my fault for always nursing him to sleep at nap time, now that we've stopped nursing he doesn't know how to fall asleep without being in the car)
He's constantly putting shoes/socks/bags/etc. on his hand and jabbering as if they are puppets
Whenever he bumps his head he says "bonk" which is often!
He has a pretty good throwing arm
He will either give you a million kisses or zero - I guess it just depends on how he's feeling that day!
It's amazing and scary how well he can navigate the iPad
He will not eat an OtterPop unless it has a dishtowel wrapped around it
All day long we wander around the house saying "show me" and he directs us where to go with pointing and grunting

Likes:
Candy - he seriously has the worst sweet tooth!
His favorite movie is Finding Nemo - he'd watch it on repeat all day if we'd let him.  He's constantly asking for "fish??  videos??"
He loves loves loves blueberry bread
He is eating a bit better and I attribute part of that to his new love of ketchup!
Going for walks in his stroller (hurray for warmer weather!)
Playing "i'm gonna get you" he throws his hands in the air and wiggles his fingers all around
Standing in the fridge and pulling anything he can off of the shelf

Dislikes:
Being told no - I can't believe the meltdowns he's capable of!
Wearing pants
Getting in and out of the car (we have a two stop max when going places!)

I'm the luckiest to have you as mine!

Easter and a Baby Blessing

We headed to Boise for Easter once again this year.  Actually, it was just good timing with Easter, we really went for Lucas' baby blessing!  The trip was fast, but it was so wonderful.  All of my siblings were able to make it.  Jared moved to TX a little over a year ago and it was the first time any of us had seen him since then and the last time all of us were together was Dylan's blessing, so it was way past time for a little Schofield reunion!  We loved getting to spend a few days with both of our families and as an added bonus, Grandpa & Grandma Ludlow made the trip as well!  What a perfect way to spend Easter.

On Saturday my mom hosted a "little" easter egg hunt at her house for the grandkids (yes, all three of them one of which is a newborn).  There were soooooo many eggs!  I think Lilli ended up with two full baskets and Dylan managed to fill one too.  There was lots of candy!  I wish Dylan would have been feeling a bit better, he pretty much sat in one spot while Pat tossed eggs close enough to him to grab.

Then on Sunday we had the blessing.  Vinnie did such a great job.  Afterwards we headed back to my parents house for Easter baskets and a delicious dinner!  Dylan was super overwhelmed by all the people, but eventually warmed up a bit and gave some smiles!

Sure wish I would have gotten some photos of Lucas in his little suit - he looked so cute!  Also wish I would have snapped one of the proud little family!  It really was the perfect weekend!

A Collection

Here are a bunch of videos of Dylan being super adorable.  Enjoy!

No need for a drain at our house, Dylan just splashes all the water out of the tub.

Sesame Street was super hilarious the other morning!!

This pretty much sums up how every morning goes...and lunch and dinner too.

Learning his body parts

His Jungle Book/elephant/Mowgli walk

We dance to this toy a lot!
