Sixteen Months

For the first time in five months we've managed to have a healthy month!  I'm so hoping that the start of spring is going to be the end of cold season!  Dylan is picking up on so much these days!  He's constantly mimicking whatever Pat and I are doing, it's adorable, and maybe a bit terrifying!  I suppose we should always be watching what we say/do, but now it's becoming apparent why!  We love him to pieces and really can't imagine what life would be like without him.  Being a parent is hard and has it's own unique challenges, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  The absolute joy and happiness he has in him is infections, and at the total risk of sounding corny, it's one sickness we all can't help but catching!

Facts/Accomplishments:
He has figured out how to undo his diaper and thinks it's a super fun game to play
All four of his molars are giving him trouble, but not a single one has broken through
He has mastered a number of new animals sounds, however, my favorite and also most concerning is that the people says "blah blah blah"
He is super clingy in the morning, it's a challenge putting him down just so I can use the bathroom
He knows where his head, belly, and nose are - 9 times out of 10 when pointing to his nose,
his finger goes right up it!
His current favorite word is "cooooow"
He makes the cutest fish face, which doesn't look like a fish at all,
he simply sucks in his bottom lip - I absolutely adore it!
Every night at bedtime we lay down and make shadows on the wall, he loves it, and when it's time to be done I say "night night shadows" and he firsts waves goodbye, and then as the flashlight goes off he starts clapping.  I love our little night time routine.
Whenever he's going to do something he knows he shouldn't he starts shaking his head no - makes it easy to know what he's up to, but hard not to laugh and encourage him!
He's getting better at playing on his own, but makes sure to do periodic check-ins by crawling over and giving me a hug - it's the sweetest.

Likes:
Pulling on the dogs ears and tails - poor puppies
He is obsessed with the iPad, honestly it's becoming a problem
He has a love/hate relationship with shoes - he's constantly bringing them to me to put them on him, but the second I do he kicks them off
He loves ketchup and generally just sucks it off whatever it is he's suppose to be eating
He is a great little dancer, my favorite being when he points his fingers in the air and shakes his arms back and forth
He loves to crawl under my legs like they are a tunnel
In addition to the iPad addiction, he also is constantly wanting to look at pictures of himself on my iPhone
He loves crawling up into his rocking chair and rocking by himself while reading books or eating a snack
Playing with utensils - at this point they are mostly just a toy, but he's slowing figuring out how to use them
Eating books - we have multiple board books with big chunks taken out of the corner
His favorite show is Sesame Street, however, recently he's also been willing to watch Cars and Finding Nemo (which is a big relief for Mom and Dad, we couldn't handle much more Elmo!)
If he is ever grumpy or I want to distract him all I have to say is "go get daddy's belly" he loves it!
Playing on the slide!  We are loving the warmer weather!!

Dislikes:
He still won't eat any meat - he immediately spits it right out
Sitting in a highchair - he is typically good for about 5 minutes and then he wants out
Weaning - this kinda goes without saying, but we are right in the thick of it and mom and baby are struggling a little bit! (but determined to succeed!!)

Here's to another month of being the cutest kid I know!  Love ya bug!!
