January 2016 Family Recap

Oh January, you've been cold and snowy and the perfect kind of hibernating weather!  Despite my strong desire to just hide inside all month, we did manage to do a few fun things together!  We rang in the New Year as a family at home, the kids thought it was great, and we all went to bed by 10!  We played with our friends a lot, the highlight for Dylan was going sledding and building a snowman, he absolutely loved it!  We also spent a Saturday at Scheels, who knew you could have so much fun at a sporting goods store!  And despite our best efforts to get out, we spent a lot of time playing inside, baking, coloring, and of course taking selfies!  Sure love these people of mine!!

Oh bud, you're getting so big!  I kinda die when I look back at pictures from just a few months ago and realize you're not my "little buddy" anymore!  You are my very most favorite boy ever and I consider myself so lucky to be the one who gets to watch you grow and learn!

You love any reason to celebrate!
Johnny our smart toy bear has become your newest bff, you take him everywhere!
I bought you some flash cards to work on all your letters, and to my surprise, you already knew them all!
I really shouldn't have been surprised, you love to draw and write your letters all day long.
We went sledding for the first time and you loved everything about it, except when the snow would come up in your face.  I died laughing when I looked at the pictures I'd taken and in almost every one your little face is hiding deep inside your coat!
You got to ride the ferris wheel with your dad and thought it was the best!
You gave your first talk in primary and did awesome!
We (okay your dad) is working really hard at getting you to sleep in your own bed all night, so far you've done it once, but at least you are open to the idea, we'll get there one day!!
You are obsessed with getting the "feathers" out of your toes, or as most would call it, the toe jam left from wearing your socks all day, makes me laugh and cringe every time.
When you try new foods you like you have started exclaiming "it's...it's...it's...GOOD!"
