Neko - 5 Months

Oh little Neko, what a month we've had!  You are growing way too fast and with it comes good and bad days!  Your little personality is starting to come out more and more, but I must admit you are a bit of a conundrum.  You still don't really like to cuddle, but you also hate to be put down, it makes for some trying moments.  Luckily you quickly erase all the hard moments with one of your sweet sweet smiles and adorable belly laughs.  We love having you as ours!

You are a total drool monster!
You have reached the stage where anything you can get into your hands goes directly into your mouth!
You finally found your feet and you love them (and I love watching you roll up into a ball to play with them!)
You have an adorable little laugh, but the only one who can get you to really belly laugh is your big brother!
You have started scratching at everything.
You scream/squeal.  A lot.
Your fine little baby hair is starting to fall out, it makes me so sad, but with your head hair you've also lost that hair along your ears that both you and your brother were born with.

We love you to the moon little girl!!

Dylan in September

Oh little one, you are growing from toddler to little boy way too fast!  I've been thinking a lot the last several weeks about how much you've grown since your little sister has arrived.  It honestly makes my heart hurt, I feel like we thrust you into growing up before you were ready.  The reality is, it was bound to happen, and the only one who isn't ready for it is me.  You are a great big brother, but my mommy heart isn't ready for you to stop being a baby.  Here are just a few things you've said/done that have made us laugh and that you have come to love!

Your newest phrase is "let's go boys!" and "oh coconuts!"
We went on a "staycation" this month, and you loved everything about it!  Your favorite was riding the train (trax) and staying in "our really nice room"
When you are thinking about what to say next you say "ummmm" and then click your tongue until you come up with your next answer/statement.
You are a total night owl.  You are regularly the last one to fall asleep at our house.
You love to yell and listen to your voice echo.
Every time we drive past our neighborhood pool you say the following "look!  the swimming pool!  dylan no like the swimming pool.  dylan likes the beeeeeeach!!"
You love school buses and always point them out and then request to ride on one (wish I knew how to make it happen for you!)
When Neko wakes up from naps you always say "hi big brother!" i'm not sure you realize that you are the one who is big brother.
When asked what you want to do you almost always say "go to Target" it's because you're spoiled and always come home with a new toy.
Your favorite food is "bread and cheese" from Subway but have shocked us recently and tried some new foods, most notably bacon and a cheeseburger.

Your daddy and I think you are the best little boy ever.  We love you so!!

September 2014 Family Recap

September you were good to us!  So many fun things happened!!

We started the month off by celebrating cousin Lilli's 5th birthday with a Pokemon Party!

Then Pat decided to take some time off work, and with him working shift that meant he was home with us for 11 days!  Neko super hates the car, so we didn't want to chance going anywhere far, but we did go on a mini "staycation" to SLC.  It was nice to get away for a few days and Dylan loved "our really fun adventure."  We started the trip off with visiting Hogle Zoo where it torrential rained on us!  Luckily we were in eating lunch when it hit and were able to ride it out there, and then by the time it was over we practically had the zoo to ourselves!  That night we hit City Creek for dinner and a little bit of shopping.  We stayed at the Plaza hotel which is right downtown and there was a trax station right outside our hotel, so we took advantage of riding the "train" every chance we got.  It may have been the highlight of the trip for Dylan.  The second day we went to the Utah State Fair where we ate greasy fair food, played games, looked at animals, and Dylan rode his first fair ride.  There was a little mini roller coaster that he insisted on riding, so I went with him.  He was terrified the entire ride.  It may have ruined him from rides for the rest of his life!  We loved getting away, but we were also exhausted by the time it was time to go home.  We now know for sure we are not ready for a real vacation, at least not until Dylan is willing to walk a bit more and Neko gets a bit older!

Right after our trip ended it was the kick off for BYU football's home games, which meant visits from Grandpa & Grandma two weekends in a row!  We had to watch the games from home, while they got to go to the stadium, but we love cheering on our cougars and even more so having visitors!

The rest of the month was spent having fun together, whether that meant hanging out at home, going to the farm and aquarium, or checking out Dylan's new favorite activity, mini bowling!
