May 2015 Family Recap

May was so good to us!  The month started with a road trip to Boise to celebrate Neko's 1st birthday (which got it's own special post!) and then Pat left the three of us there to play for a little over a week. We missed daddy so much, but played as much as we could!  There were play dates with cousins, visits to the park, a zoo trip with grandma, mini golfing with grandpa, and just lots of hanging out together!  Sadly Neko got sick towards the last half of the visit and made things a little (a lot) rough, but we still loved being there!  Pat came back and picked us up, but first we made a visit for some mini golfing and arcade games!  While we were busy playing in Boise, Pat was busy getting things done at home!  We had the downstairs of the house painted and a deck built!  We are super happy with both!  Lots of evenings have been spent out on our new deck (which now has a railing that's not pictured below).  The day we left was Mother's Day and we felt super lucky to get to see grandma for a minute on that special day!  The rest of the month was spent at the aquarium, playing outside, feeding the ducks, Dylan's first sleepover with cousin Lilli, and just loving being together!  Oh, and last but certainly not least, Pat and I celebrated our 6th anniversary with a little dinner date, so nice to go on a date together (thanks kimi for watching the kids!)  We loved you May and are excited to welcome in summer!!

Dylan in May 2015

Dylan you had a GOOD month!  You are so super fun to be with, you find excitement in just about everything, and it's something I adore about you!  On the flip side, you still throw some pretty massive fits, but all the joy and happiness you bring quickly washes away the hard moments.  I love, love, love being your mom!!

YOU ARE POTTY TRAINED!!!!  It honestly all went so smoothly that I've hesitated saying it, but you've done it!  One day you told me you wanted to go potty, and you've never looked back!  And all of this with only one accident (knock on wood!)  We are all beyond proud of you!!
You ask "just how?" about a million times a day, "how" is used in place of who, what, where, when, it's exhausting, and adorable at the same time.
You are the king of the fake cry!  You can pull out those tears in a second flat!
When you don't want to do something you suddenly no longer have whatever body part is required to accomplish the task, for example, if you don't want to eat you've lost your mouth, or walk upstairs you don't have legs, honestly it makes me laugh which I'm sure is why you keep it up!
Things you've said this month that I've loved "Mom, I really like you" and then when Neko was sick every time she cried you'd say "It's okay neeks, I'm right here" sweetest big brother!  and last but not least, when picking up daddy from the airport you exclaimed "Neeks!  we're getting daddy cause I miss him so much!!"
You went mini golfing for the first time and insisted you needed to get a hole in one on every hole, it was frustrating for everyone!
You LOVED being in Boise and told me multiple times a day you wanted to stay there forever.

Neko's 1 year photo shoot

Neko you were not overly cooperative for your 1-year photos, but we still managed to get some cute ones! Between your current stranger danger phase and teething you spent most of the time fussing or making funny teething faces.  On top of that, you had zero interest in the birthday cake!  Oh well, turns out none of that matters, because you are absolutely beautiful!
